Even the single people out there. While it can be found in a simple google search of your local events, I feel that if you want to really have you and your friends enjoy it, you can host a private speed dating event yourself! SO which one do you go for? I suggest going for a fairly sized one to start with. List down your single friends and invite them personally. Create event invites on facebook weeks ahead. This allows people to save your date ahead of time. Consider food and drinks as part of the ticket price. You will need to consider ambiance and noise factor as the goal of a speed dating event is to be able to make as much of an impression on each other in short amounts of time.

Lewis Rigby, 23, pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was sentenced to three years and nine months after the head-on collision in Holcombe Brook, Bury , on May 31 this year. His victim had to be cut free from the car by firefighters and remains in hospital for treatment.
Rigby also pleaded guilty at Bolton Crown Court to driving without insurance or a driving licence. On his release from custody he will be disqualified from driving for six years and eight months. He had previously been given a suspended sentence of two-and-a-half months for aggravated vehicle taking in August , which was activated in October , leaving him behind bars. The court was not told why the sentence was activated at that time. Victim Clare King, 36, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition after sustaining brain damage and a fractured wrist and spine in the crash in May this year.

The springs later provided the waters for the moat and ditches of a Norman castle, traces of which can be seen to the east of the pool in the Well Head Park. The town probably began as small settlement around a natural artesian well, supplied by several underground springs which are said to supply some of the purest water in the country. The Romans almost certainly established a camp here as it was at the northern end of King Street, which began close to the Roman town of Durobrivae, near modern day Peterborough.

Signs went up in preparation to drop the speed from 40mph to 30mph earlier this month – although contractors admitted accidentally putting them up too early , causing confusion amongst motorists.
Now the ‘Experimental Traffic Regulation Order’ is being introduced as part of the Derriford Transport Scheme and will be valid for 18 months, with a review after the first 12 months. Plymouth City Council reminded motorists last night that the new speed limit comes in today. A temporary 30mph limit has been in place between Budshead Road and Powisland Drive while the scheme works have been taking place but the trial will extend the length of the A where the 30mph limit applies.
The council says there has been a history of crashes along this section of Tavistock Road and road safety inspections have recommended a reduced speed limit. Traffic on Tavistock Road Image: Jon Bayley Read More Police given snooty note for parking in parent bay at Lidl Council road chiefs say the trial will mean there is a more consistent speed limit along this route and will help drivers, particularly visitors, as they adjust to the major changes that have been made to the road layout as part of the Derriford Transport Scheme.
They also consider this to be a better speed limit for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles using the route. Councillor Sue Dann, cabinet member for environment and street scene, said: Anyone who travels along the motorway and other major roads will know one of the best ways to ensure speed compliance is to have a consistent limit in place.

A new breed of fryers are using hot air alone instead of oil to produce perfect, golden and crispy fried foods without the faff and safety hazards of a deep fat fryer. But can hot air really cook the perfect chip as well as a traditional fryer? Both are sleek, shiny black machines that sit on the worktop with a digital display including presets for popular foods and a removable basket within the main frying section.
Both are non-stick, dishwasher friendly and seem pretty self explanatory. I scour online forums and Amazon reviews to find the best foods to trial them with. Forums are awash with people recommending low calorie cooking sprays for these, so I get myself one and spritz it all over the chicken and chips before seasoning. The chicken takes no time at all to cook about 13 minutes for a large leg and thigh and looks fantastic.
The veg in the Lidl machine is a bit stuck to the basket — maybe I should have put it in a dish to cook? The courgettes are also underdone, but the onions are turning black. The cooking guide suggests 15 minutes at C but I think a higher heat and less time would be better, so go for six minutes at C. At the end of the six minutes, the fat has still not had a chance to properly render down despite the high heat, and the steaks lack the colour and appeal they would normally.

Behind the kitchen is the back kitchen with a door to stone staircase down to the cellars, and beyond this the laundry room. On the other side of the hall, leading from the Gallery, through two sets of double doors you come into the grand, double length drawing room or possibly the ballroom with a beautiful fireplace and huge mirrors taking up one wall. Eileen was slapped with a ticket by Athena Parking, who claimed she had overstayed the limit at the Aspley store. But Eileen appealed as she knew she had not breached the rules. She had visited twice in one day, both for short periods, returning the second time after forgetting to buy cat food. Eileen appealed as she was sure evidence from the cameras would see her in the clear. A veteran of complicated court trials, she compiled the evidence that would provide her alibi, posting the parking firm a receipt and a witness statement from the coffee shop she was in when they said she was parked at Lidl.
But she was outraged when her appeal was turned down. The firm sent her a letter saying they had reviewed the photographic evidence, but she did not believe they had. But she has received no apology. She has now written a strongly worded letter to the Portsmouth-based parking firm and advised others to make sure they fight their corner. Parking firms would have to take any non-payer to civil court. Very few do so due to the time and cost involved. A spokesman for Athena said a mix-up caused by two staff dealing with Eileen’s appeal meant it was originally rejected before being successful.

The signals came from a tiny galaxy roughly three billion light years from Earth. They were delivered in an intense burst and were all picked up within the space of five hours.
Read More Saturn’s rings could be the remains of a MOON that smashed into the planet million years ago These so-called fast radio bursts FRB have been dubbed FRB and come from an area of space where signals have previously been detected. The above image shows the recordings of 14 of the bursts made by the team. One such explanation could be that rotating neutron stars are sending out hugely powerful bursts of energy that are travelling across the cosmos to be intercepted by us.
Alternatively, experts have proposed that an alien civilisation may be using targeted laser bursts to power spacecraft. NASA is looking at a similar method in order to send tiny crafts to Proxima Centauri, our nearest star. The scientists at Breakthrough Listen have alerted the rest of the astronomical community and turned over their findings in the hope that others could help find answers.
